Happy Lunar New Year 2012!

In more than an hour, people will be celebrating the lunar new year. I just forgot to buy tikoy at the mall earlier when we took a quick trip for early dinner after attending the afternoon mass nearby. They say tikoy is nice to eat on the lunar new year for a family to stickand bond more toegether.

I have two red envelopes with money ready for they say that it is for good fortune. I know we all have to work hard in order to earn and make good in the financial aspect of our life. But I think it does not hurt to observe it if the intention is for soemthing good that we wish for in life. As long as we do not forget, we just cannot sit down and relax for we still have to work hard in order to make a living.

I look forward to a productive, profitable, blissful, happy, blessed, peaceful, and bullish year to all those who can understand what I am talking about. May this year be a blessing to all of us to share to others.

Acoustic Guitar

The topic of getting our little boy into a class in music when I was talking to another mom in school recently made me think maybe we could give it a try next year. But when the little boy found his toy guitar recently and started playing it once again with much interest it made me think maybe we could find one of those nice quality acoustic guitars when he is older and who knows he might show more than just interest on playing the guitar but a passion in playing it that we may discover later on. 

Right now I am looking at Lee Dewyze, the winner of American Idol 2010, playing an acoustic guitar on a commercial on TV. If we could get our hands on one of those best acoustic guitars like the one he is using plus an inspiration like Lee himself to my dear son then who knows he may be an acoustic artist in the making too.

Wish It’s Friday Now

Yes I really wish it is Frdiay night now because by this time tomorrow, dear hubbywill be home and it will be the start of our New Year weekend. We don’t always have a regular weekend so you may imagine my excitement and anticipation for getting regular weekends just like other regular families out there. Hubby’s work sked is ever changing. We love it in a way that during week days we can have our weekend when there are less people in the mall or places we want to go to.

Wish I can fast forward time if we only have the power to do just that and I will forward it to 24 hours from now. But of course reality-wise, I could still make use of that 24 hours of waiting with bonding time with my dear little boy who is fortunately sound asleep now letting me do work with more focus and less divided attention.

Well might as well make the most of the next 24 hours while I wait for the start of our New Year’s weekend. 

Stay away from those firecrackers…

Part Time Job

My friend’s brother came home for the holidays and may stay here for a few more weeks after the holidays before going back to the US. My friend tells me her brother has been looking for  a part time job similar to those Cocktail Server Jobs since he has worked before as a bartender in a bar in NY where he was based. 

Last month, I heard of a bar in the city that was looking for one though I may not be that sure anymore if that position is still open up to now. It was indeed a part time job offered by someone we knew since they know there will be more customers during the holiday season. I am sure that my friend’s brother will be able to find a part time job soon since there are more establishments opening in the coming year. I wish him luck and hope he finds a part time job soon.

Tree

Our old Christmas tree simply decorated with lights and two golden chains from my sister. I did not put any other decor because I like it simple just like a tree of lights. What the little boy and I do is turn the house’s lights off and turn the Christmas lights on in our Christmas tree.

It is a simple yet a nice sight to see for me. I love it simply that way! There are times when I can simply stare at it and enjoy the company of my dear little boy while relaxing and de-stressing at night before calling it a night.
