We had a family get together last weekend and while waiting for the early dinner at my sister’s hous, I was able to have a relaxing Saturday afternoon. I miss living in a subdivision where it is peaceful and quite. Our place may be quite too but it is different living in the city proper in my opinion. Well I made the most of our visit there, I stayed outside for awhile enjoying the nice Saturday afternoon weather. Plus the great cloud formation, beautiful view of the sky and the setting sun there was great and spectacular!
I was convincing my elder sis to buy one of those nice patio chairs and chaise lounge chairs that I have browsed through before among the patio furniture chairs by Cozy Days. My dad did agree with me. He likes to stay outside my sister’s house too and enjoy the wind just like my brother. There is that spot there that is our favorite place to stay outside especially during the afternoon. It would be great to lounge there and just relax on a Saturday afternoon.
Sometimes I wish we live near my sister’s house for many reasons but one thing though that stops me is that the internet access and connection there is limited which is not something I am ready to deal with just yet. But I would love to visit there often during weekends because we usually have our family get together there most of the time now. Hope to be back there soon for another relaxing Saturday afternoon!
We all deserve to have a good quality of air wherever we are especially in our home. I have been telling hubby to tell the neighbor to park their jeepney someplace else far from our unit since for almost two years now every early morning, when they heat up the engine which takes a few minutes before they leave, smoke belched comes into the lil boy’s bedroom through the airconditioner. They usually park the jeepney on the street outside the fench very near our unit. Good if I am up early coz once I hear them heat up the engine, I would turn off the airconand wait till a few minutes after the jeepney has gone before I turn it on again. But this morning, I woke up rather late and I already heard it leave in a few minutes. I hope they would find a way too but I guess they don’t know they are somehow polluting our quality of air. I hope hubby will find a way to talk to them soon!
The rainy season is here! It has been cloudy whole day with overcast skies and rain pouring down starting mid morning. At least now the rain has stopped over here. When hubby came home earlier, he mentioned seeing our neighbor busy cleaning their small fish pond even if it was still drizzling a bit. I remember my dad so many years ago when he still had a small fish pond in our house, he would also do that sometimes even in the rain he will continue to clean the fish pond.
The neighbor had to clean his since the water had turned so green. I think he might really need an effective pond algae control. Algae may be very important in pond water as it is the base of the food chain. But too much of it gives you the green water plus it depletes the supply of oxygen that could possibly kill the fishes in your pond. My dad did experience before some fishes dying when he tends to forget to clean the pond in the house in a week or so. Until years later he decided not to use the pond anymore.
As for the neighbor who still keeps his pond, he can use a quick fix which is to use an algaecide. It may not be a long term solution but at least it will help him cope for awhile since the rainy season is here now and he is not always here to have time to clean it up unless he hires someone to clean i up for him on a regular basis.
An online friend had asked a favor so I have been looking for circuit city, a consumer electronics retailer which I have heard of several times before but I think is not operating now. Though I also read it is an online retailer launched in 2009 now owned by Systemax, which uses the brand to sell electronics as an online retailer. I think the online store called The Source which is the Canadian division of the original company. I have browsed through this before looking for some electronic gadgets and stuff several times like cellphones when I attempted to try buying one online from it.
Anyway, at least now I know and am not as confused as I started helping out my friend who is looking for that old store online. And now I even remember some online friends buying stuff from that store before the original company was closed. It used to be the second largest U.S. electronics retailer from what I have read.
What becomes more valuable over time aside from that savings you worked hard to earn and set aside for the family’s future, it is that precious investment we have if we do get to buy gold coins which makes a great and precious investment we will surely appreciate one day in the future. Pool liners can also crack and puncture. All of these problems lead to a need to replace the liner. Here are some tips to help you measure the liner so you can get a new one that is the perfect size.
Measure the sides of the pool. Use a tape measure to measure the long end of the pool and the short end of the pool. Write these numbers down. The next step is to drain the pool. Make sure you plan to replace the liner before you do this step, though. It is too much work to refill the pool and then drain it again later. Once the pool is drained, measure the depth of the pool by stretching a tape measure to the bottom and measuring to the top of the pool. Next, calculate the square footage of your pool. What’s for dinner? I asked myself that question before I asked hubby the same question. He didn’t answer so I just said why not have some very hot soup for a change. I wanted something hot other than a dry or fried viand. So hubby went out and bought pork tamarind soup at a nearby restaurant after we got home from attending the afternoon mass.
I have been thinking about the tamarind soup since lunch after hearing from a friend that this helped her diet and lose weight. Browsing and reading constantly through those articles about Lipovox and other supplements that are made to make you lose weight makes me want to try natural ways of dieting all the time. But then I ate quite a few pieces of the pork with fat from the soup which I should not have done in the first place. I already told hubby we should not pork anymore and yet I ate again.
Okay I have to think of other possible non pork viands for tomorrow on our family get together. It would be an early dinner and I just wishI can really control what I eat tomorrow.
My friend is a college graduate and a full time mom now. But she realized she wants to learn new things after more than a decade of finishing college. I suggested that she do research college degrees offered online. She did say she was interested in a vocational program like a dressmaking degree or a fashion related degree sort of. Or any other interesting vocational program perhaps which usually take between just one and two years to complete. It is nice since it requires meeting less frequently therefore allowing those students who have to balance their education with her family and kids like my friend.
I am thinking about this too for who knows I may decide to pursue a vocational program too but it may be into baking or cooking since I love food and I love to eat as well! Seriously I really want to try culinary school. I’ll try checking that out soon!
